Plans, coordinates, administers and provides professional expertise for the SPL industrial hygiene program.
Develops priorities and goals for the industrial hygiene program.
Prepares District directives, instructions, specific control procedures, and occupational health bulletinsrelative to industrial hygiene.
Evaluates program accomplishments periodically to coordinate the program effectively and to determine theneed for program improvements or changes.
Conducts periodic surveys of working conditions to assess the nature and magnitude of hazardousexposures in order to determine the effectiveness of existing control measures and to ensure compliancewith applicable safety and health regulations
Plans, coordinates and conducts comprehensive surveys to identify and evaluate potential chemical,biological or physical health hazards within the workplace.
Develops a sampling and monitoring plan to establish baseline data and to ensure that continued monitoringof known hazards is conducted as required.
Reviews laboratory reports and current/historical documents to aid in determination of possible healthproblems.
Reviews accident reports for completeness, accuracy, and authenticity and assures causal analysis andcorrective actions are appropriate.
